A palm reading diagram is a tool that can help anyone get started with palmistry. Anyone interested in palm reading will find it quite useful especially when identifying the various lines, mounts, and other specific details one needs to identify or understand. However, do take note that there are different schools of thought when it comes to the interpretation of these details. Greek palmistry will differ from Indian and Chinese palmistry with regards to interpretation.
The Shape of a Person’s Hands
One of the first things noted in a palm reading chart is the shape of an individual’s hands. The different hand shapes or types are categorized by various so-called elements. The different hand types include earth, fire, air, and water. An earth hand will have rough skin with broad palms and squared fingers.
On the other hand, a person with a fire hand will have the skin of his palm flushed or kind of pinkish in color. The shape of this type of hand will either be rectangular or square. An air hand is characterized by long fingers. The palms will be rectangular or square in shape and the skin is characteristically dry. Finally, a water hand will have oval shaped and short palms. The fingers are conical in shape but are elongated.
Understanding the Lines
Palm reading diagrams will differ in terms of details. A more detailed palm reading chart will illustrate more lines other than the most basic ones you should know. Take note that some lines may not appear or won’t be clearly visible in a person’s palms. You can start with a basic chart in order to learn the main lines and then move on to a more detailed diagram to master the rest.
The Main Lines
A palm reading diagram may or may not distinguish which ones are the main or major lines of the palm and which ones are the minor lines. This is basically where a simple chart can help beginners. The major lines of the palm include the heart line, the fate or destiny line, the life line, and the head line. The other lines other than these four major lines are called the minor lines.
The Minor Lines
Once you have mastered where the major lines are located on the palm you can now move over to the minor lines. The minor lines include the girdle of Venus, travel lines, marriage line, and the health line. Looking into a detailed palm reading diagram, you’ll notice that there are other important details other than all these lines.
The Fingers
The fingers in your chart will also be designated different names. For instance your index finger will be named after Jupiter. The middle finger is Saturn, the ring finger is Apollo, and the little finger is Mercury. Only the thumb is not given a different name or designation.
The Mounts
Another important part of the diagram is the different mounts. They are mostly located at the base of the fingers and around the palm. They are also named after Greek gods and represent a person’s energies and talents. The various mounts are the Jupiter mount, Saturn mount, Sun or Apollo mount, Mercury mount, first Mars mount, second Mars mount, plane of Mars, Luna or moon mount, Neptune mount, and Venus mount.
Interpreting a Palm Reading Diagram
As noted earlier, there are different ways of interpreting the different lines, mounts, and shapes in a palm reading diagram. Lines curve in different ways and hands are shaped differently. Each variation will have a different interpretation. The school of thought that is practiced is another factor that will clearly influence the interpretation.
